Nation stars for Ja Women

Jamaica's vice-captain Chedean Nation believes they are heading in the right direction after defeating Windward Islands Women by a comfortable eight wickets in round two of the Cricket West Indies Women's Twenty20 Blast at Kensington Park yesterday.

The win, which was largely achieved on a Player of the Match performance from all-rounder Nation, ensured Jamaica recorded their second win in as many matches.
The Windwards, batting first, were restricted to 85 for six off their allotted 20 overs with Nation, bowling part-time pace, claiming four for 20 over her maximum four overs.
Jamaica, in reply, led by captain Stafanie Taylor, 36 not out, and Nation 15 not out then coasted to 86 for two.
"As a unit we are looking really good," outlined Nation after the triumph, which followed up a similar convincing eight-wicket triumph over Guyana in their first fixture.
"Our bowling has been on the up, our fielding is improving, and our batting has been on par. It is just for us to continue to take it one game at a time, and try to go on to win the title," she added.
Jamaica, seeking their first regional title in three years, will next play the Leeward Islands tomorrow, also at Kensington. Match time is 2 p.m.
