The Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ) will offer a Basic Microsoft Excel course for professionals looking to increase their knowledge and proficiency in applying the useful software.

The 12-hour training seminar will be conducted virtually over four days, beginning on Tuesday, March 29 to Friday, April 1. Each session will last for three hours, starting at 9 a.m.

The training will be facilitated and certified by the Management Institute for National Development and is designed to help participants increase their efficiency on the job by leveraging Microsoft Excel to store, manipulate and chart numeric data. They will also learn how to smoothly interact with the tools in the spreadsheet which will enhance the knowledge, skills and competencies required to carry out their job functions.

The session will place emphasis on a collaborative, hands-on approach that focuses on participants’ application of the course content to their respective job functions.

Registrants will learn how to generate reports, presentations, and other documents in less time and with greater efficiency. What’s more, they will be taught how to create and format spreadsheets, design more effective spreadsheets, and create and edit simple formulae.

The Basic Microsoft Excel offering follows the SAJ’s successful staging of a hazardous materials course, delivered by the Caribbean Maritime University, last month.
