#Carifta2022 | Scott brings Bahamas' second javelin record
The Bahamas have broken another javelin record at the 49th Carifta Games on at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jmaica.
Dior-Rae Scott of the Bahamas set a new mark in winning the Girls Under-17 Javelin throw, with an effort of 44.57m, erasing the 15-year-old 42.90 set by Deandra Dottin of Barbados in 2007.
Scott's throw added some shine to Keyshawn Strachan's record-breaking win of 79.89 on the first day of action.
Strachan was breaking Anderson Peters' 78.29, the Grenadian setting that mark in 2016.
Kenika Cassar of Trinidad and Tobago took silver with 42.86 while Suerena Alexander of Grenada got bronze in 42.57. Jamaica's Rehanna Biggs was seventh with 19.63.
