PERFECT BREW exploded midway the stretch run of yesterday’s I’msatisfied Trophy to blast past the United States-bred pair of I’VE GOT MAGIC and JORDON REIGN’S, clocking 1:12.1 on a fast track at six furlongs.

Ante-post favourite IS THAT A FACT’s scratch changed the complexion of the early pace, resulting in ROJORN DI PILOT and I’VE GOT MAGIC alternating on the lead before JORDON REIGN’S rushed around to take over three and a half furlongs out.

Not as quick as the foreigners, PERFECT BREW made his way from the rear to fourth at the half-mile marker, mending rapidly with Tevin Foster to get within striking distance of the leaders coming off the home turn.

JORDON REIGN’S blasted into the lane with I’VE GOT MAGIC a length behind in hot pursuit along the rail while PERFECT BREW swooped down into third, going past ROJORN DI PILOT.

DISRUPTING CHALLENGER’S MOMENTUM

Drifting inwards a furlong and a half out, JORDON REIGN’S herded I’VE GOT MAGIC against the rail, disrupting his challenger’s momentum, an opportunity seized by PERFECT BREW to reel in both foreigners a furlong and a quarter out, sprinting clear to win by four and a half lengths.

I’VE GOT MAGIC stayed on for second ahead of JORDON’S REIGN, a neck separating the foreigners at the wire.

Jason DaCosta saddled back-to-back winners on his uninterrupted march towards a second trainers’ title, landing the Princess Popstar for two-year-olds with United States-bred debutant DIGITAL ONE, who clocked an impressive 1:06.3 for five and a half furlongs in the seventh with leading rider Reyan Lewis, albeit on a quick track.

Philip Parchment rode his second winner of the afternoon, replacing Lewis aboard DaCosta’s PHENOMENAL ONE in the eighth, powering past SIR KEL and DODGE THIS LINK inside the final half-furlong at five furlongs straight.

Parchment got off the mark in the sixth, surviving a double jockeys’ objection and steward’s enquiry aboard 7-1 mild upsetter, WAR HORSE, who appeared to have herded PRINCESS RIA and SHIP AHOY at the half-mile marker.

Racing continues this afternoon with an eight-race card.
