ODs for Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Admiral Bailey and Nadine Sutherland

Four veteran artistes will be inducted into the Order of Distinction in the rank of Officer.

They are Moses 'Beenie Man' Davis, Rodney 'Bounty Killer' Price, Glendon Orville 'Admiral Bailey' Bailey and Nadine Sutherland.

All are being honoured for their contribution to Jamaican music, with Bounty Killer and Beenie Man being highlighted specifically for their contribution to dancehall music.

Audrey Silvia Reid and Dr Curtis Watson round out the list, Reid for her contribution to film and Dr Watson for his contribution to the creative arts in music and international performances.

David St Michael Brown will receive a Badge of Honour for Meritorious Service for his dedicated service to the field of culture. Meanwhile, the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission's (JCDC) Marjorie Leyden Kirton and Slean Wilson Johnson will receive the Badge of Honour for Long and Faithful Service for their more than 30 years of service to the JCDC.

Some 150 Jamaicans are being bestowed with national awards as Jamaica celebrates its 62nd anniversary of Independence.

The awardees are to be presented with their honours during a ceremony at King’s House in October on National Heroes Day.

For contribution to the creative arts in music and international performances.

Badge of Honour for Long and Faithful Service

Marjorie Leyden Kirton

For 37 years of service to the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission.
