Keep check on fiscal spending

THE EDITOR, Sir:

It was indeed a delight to have heard the good news from Prime Minister Andrew Holness on Wednesday that the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) final review mission to Jamaica has come to an end.

From this point on, we, as a country, will need to watch carefully and conservatively our fiscal spending at all levels so that we don’t go back to the days when Jamaica wasn’t looking attractive to lenders on the international markets.

However, I must ask how much money Jamaica has spent to have had the solid advice from the various IMF teams over the period in order to keep our finances in line with our fiscal spending.
