PNP must stop the victimisation

Published:Tuesday | October 22, 2019 | 12:10 AM

THE EDITOR Sir:

It is unfortunate that the party is dumping Kari Douglas because of the recent clash between the two Peters in the People’s National Party (PNP). Miss Douglas is a very good person for the PNP to invest in for the future. We cannot allow the party to disintegrate like this. What message are we sending to the young persons in the party, that they don’t have a voice?

I hate to see a talented person such as Kari Douglas going down. This is really a retrograde step. How many times have Dr Phillips challenged Portia Simpson Miller, yet he came back without any form of discrimination against him, even when people were quarrelling that he disrespected Portia in the worst possible way.

Dayton Campbell and a few others are now being victimised by the PNP because they supported Peter Bunting. I want my party to stay focused and stop the infighting.

I want the PNP to do well in the next general election, but it won’t happen with this level of bad blood. We need to show all the persons in the PNP that we are one party and do away with the mistrust and fighting.
