KSAC to hold march against spate of child killings

The Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) is to hold a march on Saturday as it decries the increase in child murders.
The march will begin at 9 in the morning and will start at the KSAC’s offices on Church Street and go up to the St Williams Grant Park in downtown Kingston.
While at the park, a public forum will be held where there will be presentations from key stakeholders such as the Mayor of Kingston, the Youth Minister, the Child Development Agency and child rights advocates.
The KSAC says the march is to encourage Jamaicans to do more to protect children.
The country has been hit hard by a spate of child killings in recent months.
Over the weekend, a 15-year-old girl and her 25-year-old boyfriend were chopped to death in St Ann.
Last Friday, the decomposing body of a 12-year-old girl was found in bushes in Williamsfield District in St Catherine.
There have been repeated calls for the government to implement stronger action against those who hurt children.
