ICPI to stage fourth production workshop

The Institute of Cultural Policy and Innovation (ICPI) is poised to stage its fourth workshop of the 2015 series.

The two-day workshop titled 'Producing the Event', will be held July 23 and 24, and will be geared towards event practitioners and beginners who are interested in acquiring the skills to be respected event professionals.

The workshop is to be held the ICPI headquarters at 33 Westminster Road, St Andrew.

The ICPI is an independent centre for research, policy, entrepreneurship and the technological development of regional creative industries.

It is dedicated to serving the interest of the Caribbean community through the promotion and advocacy of appropriate research, consultation and public education geared toward the adaptation of policies, behavioural changes, and entrepreneurial pursuits that will ensure prosperity and sustainable development of Caribbean economies.

Workshop attendees will receive a certificate of a participation, which is certified by the International Special Events Society, with its "ISES approved" stamp.

Workshop facilitator Dr Dennis Howard is one of the Caribbean's leading event specialists with more than 30 years' experience.

Howard not only has the practical experience, but is also leading the way in academic research on the creative industries, with event management as one of the areas of concentration.

Other presenters will include Alvin Campbell, who is one of the Caribbean's leading production manager and scriptwriter.
