McKenzie says Thwaites failed to help Tivoli Gardens high with learning issues

Desmond McKenzie says Thwaites had committed to assist the Tivoli High School to cater to its pool of slow learners.

Member of Parliament, Desmond McKenzie says Education Minister Ronald Thwaites has failed to honour a commitment to help Tivoli Gardens high school with learning issues and he's now seeking the Prime Minister's intervention. 

Thwaites could not be reached earlier today for comment.

McKenzie is the MP for West Kingston, in which Tivoli High falls.

He says Thwaites had committed to assist the Tivoli High School to cater to its pool of slow learners.

McKenzie, contributing to the State of the Constituency Debate in the House of Representatives yesterday  said that of the more than 230 students placed at the schools following their Grade Six Achievement Tests (GSAT), only 32 average above 50 per cent.
