48-y-o man arrested after tendering forged cheque at bank

A 48-year-old man is now in police custody on charges of obtaining money by false pretense, conspiracy to defraud, forgery and uttering forged documents.
He is Howard Hares of Astoria Drive in Red Hills, St Andrew.
The police say on Friday Hares went to a bank where he tendered a cheque for the sum of J$150,000. During the verification procedure the cheque was discovered to be forged.
A report was made to the Fraud Squad, which led to the arrest and charge of Hares.
He is to appear before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on October 8.
