NCB coming to Fairview Shopping Centre

For decades, the National Commercial Bank (NCB) has been living up to its responsibilities as a corporate citizen and making significant contributions to nation building across many platforms.

And recently, NCB broke ground at the Fairview Shopping Centre in Montego Bay to construct a banking and financial-services centre over the next year. This facility will serve the western city and its environs as a one-stop financial centre.

But while the bank will essentially be making money, it will also give back to the community as part of its corporate social responsibility mandate.

Group managing director Patrick Hylton said the Montego Bay community can expect NCB to continue playing their role. "We are committed to being a very good corporate citizen in Montego Bay. Just as we have done across Jamaica and will continue to do, we will play a very important role in Montego Bay and its environs," Hylton affirmed.

GOOD FOR JAMAICA

"We recognise that what is good for Jamaica is good for us, and to the extent that there are challenges in Montego Bay and the wider St James community, we would want to be a part of the solution to those challenges," he said.

Hylton added, "We see the relationship and the linkages. We are not just all about doing well, but also doing good."

Meanwhile, Mark Kerr-Jarrett, managing director at Barnett Limited, owners/ vendors of the Fairview lands, lauded the NCB Group for its insight to construct the financial centre in Montego Bay.

"This development has been long in coming. We have been looking for NCB to bring their corporate banking this side of the city, but nothing happens before its time," Kerr-Jarrett said.

"It is very rewarding to see the development plan and the master plan of Fairview, the Barnett Tech Park, Bogue Village and Montego Bay West being realised. This speaks volumes to how important it is for developments to be properly planned and to have the discipline to adhere to that plan."

Weighing in on the development plans, businessman Oliver Townsend described NCB's move as timely, adding that it will add value to their customer base, particularly as it relates to overall accessibility.
