The PNP is to review its candidate selection strategy, an activity which President Portia Simpson Miller says has long been overdue.

In addition, the party will also begin the implementation of the recommendations of an appraisal committee set up to review why the party lost the February 25 elections.

Among the recommendations she will be focusing on is the strengthening of the party's secretariat to "make it more modern, transparent and efficient".

Meanwhile, Simpson Miller has called on delegates and supporters to move on from the party's loss at the February 25 polls and not to engage in an ongoing "blame game".

However, she says party leaders must acknowledge its mistakes. Taking responsibility for the party's defeat, Simpson Miller says she will also be taking responsibility for the party's transformation.
