Policewoman sentenced to two years and six months for harbouring a fugitive

Constable Kaye Falconer who was convicted of harbouring a fugitive has been sentenced to two years and six months in prison.
The sentence was handed down on Friday in the St James Parish Court.
At one point, the policewoman was seen wiping tears from her eyes as the sentence was read out by the judge.
In handing down sentencing, presiding judge Natalie Hart-Hines said that Constable Falconer's actions had led to a breach of public trust in the police.
She was arrested on February 24, 2013 after a prisoner, Greg Taylor, was recaptured at her Glendevon home in St James.
Taylor escaped from the Freeport Police lock-up under questionable circumstances on January 30 that year.
Taylor was reportedly found hiding under a table, clad in a bathrobe and bedroom slippers.
