Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL) says it has launched an investigation into an incident at Caymanas Park on Sunday that resulted in the death of a member of an entity contracted to provide entertainment for patrons at the race track.

The deceased was atop one of the kids' rides setting it up when a gust of wind reportedly swept him off, sending him into a wall.

He received injuries to his face and other parts of his body and was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he succumbed.

SVREL has extended condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased following what it calls a "very unfortunate accident".

Chairman Michael Bernard says SVREL is cooperating with the police, the Jamaica Racing Commission and all other relevant authorities as the matter is investigated.
