Court matters being adjusted due to Beryl

Court administrators say adjustment will have to be made due to the impending hurricane.

Court administrators are advising the public to anticipate disruptions to court proceedings this week arising from the passage of Hurricane Beryl.

Jamaica was this morning placed under a hurricane watch as Hurricane Beryl has entered the Eastern Caribbean.

A hurricane watch means that hurricane conditions are possible across Jamaica within 48 hours.

On the forecast track, the centre of Beryl is expected to continue past the Windward Islands and across the southeastern and central Caribbean Sea later today through Wednesday, when the hurricane nears Jamaica.

As a result, court administrators say adjustment will have to be made.

Already, it has been decided that all court proceeding will end early today, at 3 p.m., as part of preparation activities.
