Edwin Allen High School’s Kevona Davis has broken yet another ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships record at the National Stadium this afternoon.

Davis, running out of lane four in the Class 2 Girls 100m semi-final, powered away from the rest of the field to win her race in a time of 11.35 seconds, qualifying for this Friday’s final at 8.05 pm.

Davis surpassed the previous record of 11.40, set in 2016 by St Jago High School’s Kimone Shaw.

St Catherine High’s Julien Alfred finished second in 11.75 seconds while St Jago’s Kayla Bonnick was third in 12.02 seconds.

After smashing the 200m record Thursday night, with a time of 22.92 seconds, Davis had said that her focus for today would be on setting the record in the shorter distance.

She also bounced back from disappointment last year when she false-started in the final of the Class 3 Girls 100m.
