Former UWI FC head coach Marcel 'Fuzzy' Gayle realised his dream, when he penned a three-year deal as head coach of Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) heavyweights Waterhouse, last Thursday night.

Gayle is all set to replace Donovan Duckie, who left the Drewsland-based outfit for Red Stripe Premier League newcomers Mount Pleasant Football Academy. He will be unveiled as coach this morning at 8.

"It was always a dream to be head coach at Waterhouse. But, although my family expressed a bit of concern, I have decided to return to Waterhouse, which is my community and boyhood club. I have a good feeling coming back home and I am overwhelmed to be working with some former colleagues," Gayle told The Gleaner yesterday..

Bruce Bicknell, chairman of Waterhouse FC confirmed that Gayle is the new head coach of the club's senior men's team. He will start working with the team on Monday.

"That is correct. He (Gayle) is the new head coach of the club. He was an assistant there and now returns as the coach. As far as I am concerned, Gayle is one of the best coaches. The community loves him, so we decided to bring him back home," Bicknell said.

Gayle, who spent the last 10 years at UWI as assistant coach then head coach, guided them to Major League and Super League titles, as well as promotion to the RSPL.

"I left Waterhouse as an assistant coach 10 years ago and went to UWI, where I have grown and gained valuable experience as a coach. I thank UWI for some wonderful years," Gayle said.

"My aim is to bring back the glory days to Waterhouse. I want to change the concept of some people towards the community. I love football and it can be used as a tool," Gayle further said.

Duckie took Waterhouse from the relegation zone to the RSPL final where they were beaten by Portmore last May.

Waterhouse won the national title twice in 1998 and 2006.
