Portmore United's on-loan striker, Maalique Foster, says he is enjoying his time at Costa Rican top division club Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, and shared that he's looking to have a major impact on the Costa Rica Premier Division Apertura play-offs, which begin with a first-leg semi-final away to San Carlos on November 25.

The 22 year-old Foster has slowly acclimatised to life and football in the Central American country. It took him over a month to make his debut, and although he has played only four matches to date and has just one goal to his name, the wily striker said the environment has been great for him and that he is looking to make an even bigger mark in the play-offs.

"It has been a tremendous feeling to be there in a great environment. I feel welcomed there and I just go there to showcase my skills and learn as much as I can and try to move forward in life, and so far it has been great being there," he said.

Satisfied

"It took one month before I started to play, so when I started to play I did what I can, and it has been going fairly well. But I can give more, but it has been a fair performance from me so far," he told The Gleaner recently.

However, with the semi-finals set for tomorrow, Foster's intention is to do well and help his team reach the final. "Things will get better because I am comfortable with my teammates and the fans make me feel welcome, so I feel I am going to do much better with these games coming.

"We are in the semi-finals and we are looking to win this home and away game and move to the final and try to come out victorious in the league," he said.

"I have played four games so far and I have scored one goal. But I believe I can give more, more is expected, so I am going to give more. It is a one year loan until next year May, and I am looking to end the season on a high note," he said.
