Several top high-school boys’ teams, led by defending inter-secondary champions Kingston College, will lock horns today inside the National Stadium at the sixth staging of the S.W. Isaac-Henry Track and Field Invitational meet. Action starts at 8 a.m.

The meet, which is held in honour of the former principal of St Andrew Technical High, has become very popular since its inception and the various teams usually use this meet to fine-tune their athletes in individual events as next weekend is the big Gibson McCook Relays. Kingston College will face strong competition from Boys’ Champs rivals Calabar High and Jamaica College.

St Jago High’s girls, fresh off their third-place finish at the Digicel Central Athletics Championships, will headline the list of female athletes. Other female teams include The Queen’s School, Camperdown High, Convent of Mercy (Alpha) and host team St Andrew Technical.

Events on the track today will include 3000m, 200m, 400m, 1500m, 400m hurdles, sprint hurdles along with 4x400m relays.

In the field, there will be long jump, high jump, discus, shot put, triple jump and javelin.

There will also be events for clubs and colleges, along with 4x100m invitational relays for male and female prep schools.

Sponsors for the meet include Mayberry Investments Limited, Tropical Blue Spring Water, GraceKennedy Money Services and Free Form.
