OregonGoldRush | Kemba Nelson set to team up with Fraser-Pryce at Elite
World Championships 100 metres semifinalist, Jamaica’s Kemba Nelson, will be joining the Reynaldo Walcott-led Elite Performance Track Club next season.
The club made the announcement of Nelson’s arrival on its Instagram page earlier today.
Nelson will be joining forces with five-time World 100-metre champion, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, World Championships bronze medallist in the 400-metre hurdles, Rushell Clayton, and sprinter Julian Forte.
The 22-year-old Nelson, a graduate of the University of Oregon, failed to make it to the final of the women’s 100m at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon yesterday after finishing sixth in her semifinal in 11.25.
Nelson, who has a personal best time of 10.88, won silver in the 100m at the NCAA Division One Championships last month. She then finished second in the women’s 100m at the National Junior and Senior Championships to secure a spot on Jamaica’s team to these World Championships.
