Jevaughn Powell will be Jamaica's lone competitor in the men's 400m semi-finals following a series of unfortunate events in the repechage round which saw Deandre Watkins and Sean Bailey eliminated from the competition.

Having missed out on automatic qualification yesterday, Watkins and Bailey had a second chance through the repechage round.

However, Watkins was a no-show in his heat as the Jamaican was missing from his lane and did not face the starter.

It was heartbreak for Bailey however who, despite a strong start, was unable to finish as he pulled up with an injury in his heat.
