Flog bad cops in the streets

The Editor, Sir:

I commend Daraine Luton for his article 'Cop faces life for robbery; Convicted with cronies in returning-residents case' and take comfort that bad apples are being put away.

We must not sit back and judge others by the wrongs of those bad apples, but commend the good apples, in some way, for upholding the law. Perhaps if the Government were to address the menial salary police personnel are paid, and for those long, exhausting hours, they may, on the other hand, not turn to being bad apples.

Find them, Stone them

Don't get me wrong, I am in no way saying they should be let off for their crimes. They should be treated with the respect they deserve, tied to a lamp post and flogged by citizens. They have brought disgrace to the uniform and should be made to feel the shame their colleagues feel. Flog them in the street, stone them in the street. There are more of them. Please, find them.

How can an officer of the law rob old people, returning to their country, and to be in uniform while carrying out this act?
